Manual Lymphatic Drainage or MLD is the specialized technique that decongests the lymphatic vessels that carry swelling from the limbs and abdomen to the deep circulatory system and eventually to eliminate through the urinary system. It is a technique that only Certified Lymphedema Therapists (CLT) specialize in not only delivering but also teaching the client how to self-administer appropriately and effectively to maintain proper lymphatic drainage. This technique could be utilized as a rehabilitative approach or as a wellness technique to prevent any swelling and accumulation of fluid in the body.
