Katherine Kavanagh, PT, DPT, and Director of Results Physical Therapy in Gainesville and Fairfax, Virginia, graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from James Madison University and then received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Marymount University.

Katie works with the adolescent and adult orthopedic populations where she utilizes a variety of manual therapy techniques, including trigger point dry needling in conjunction with neuromuscular re-education to obtain positive results.  She has particularly strong experience in the treatment of the spine, the shoulder and the hip joint.  Additionally, Katie serves as an adjunct instructor at Marymount University in the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program for Orthopedics, Foundations of Physical Therapy, and Tutorial. 

Katie takes an individualized approach to patient care by designing a program that combines manual therapy with functional movement and strength conditioning for a goal of teaching patients how to optimize their own independence.
